Lounge THE 6
This building served as the station of a six-seater gondola that started operation in 1984 and remained in service until 2020. We affectionally called this gondola “6 (Six),” a number inspired by the hexagonal shape of snow crystals, one of our most cherished natural resources. By adding to the “6” the concept of a space where people from all walks of life can relax and socialize, we have reimagined it as a new venue, Lounge THE 6, and opened it to the public.
There is an admission fee for “Lounge THE 6.” Admission fee: 1,000 yen, includes one drink (beer, non-alcoholic beer, coffee, or soft drink).
How to enjoy the facility
Entrance space
At the entrance, there is a high table where you can relax and enjoy the view of the ski slopes, and on the walls, there are lights and picture frames made from reused rental skis from the Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort.
*A smoking area is available for smokers.
YAGURA
Seats are arranged around the “signage tower,” the symbol of Lounge THE 6, donburi dishes and sweets are offered in an unprecedented Japanese-style space, and some seats are equipped with electrical outlets for smartphone charging.
Terrace
The iconic openings of the gondola station remain, allowing guests to enjoy the natural scenery as if it were a painting. The terrace is equipped with an actual 6-seater gondola from the station as well as a fire pit (artificial bonfire) for guests to enjoy commemorative photos and roasted marshmallows.
